What inspired you to pursue a career as a massage therapist?  I have had a fair number of injuries, and a lot of bodywork to overcome those injuries.  Often, doctors would tell me to stop activities I enjoyed due to injury, and bodyworkers would help me get back to it.  That was what I wanted to do, and that is why I pursued massage.
What is the most rewarding part of your career?  Helping people feel more able-bodied.
What is your favorite type of massage to give? I enjoy giving a blended deep tissue and myofascial massage.  Why?  Deep tissue massage targets specific issues, where myofascial massage takes a more integrated view of the body.  Combining the two just feels right.
What is something no one knows about you?  When I was 8 years old, I performed at the Kennedy Center for Deng Xiao-Ping.  I looked it up after this question, and I found a video here.  I can’t pick me out, but I was in the front row at 2:55.  I still know all of the words, although I didn’t learn what any of them meant until I was in college.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?  I can often be found walking the dogs or powerlifting at the gym.
